Public Works Department
The mission of the Department of Public Works is for our skilled staff to efficiently plan, design, build, and maintain the public infrastructure of Cranberry Township and provide the residents, businesses, and visitors with high-quality, efficient, safe, and responsive services. Public Works provides oversight and asset management related operations including installation and maintenance of public infrastructures in four divisions: Fleet & Street, Grounds, Traffic, and Facilities.
Street & Fleet Division Oversees vehicle fleet and equipment maintenance, roadway repair, street sign installation and maintenance, storm drainage, heavy and light construction projects, winter maintenance, street-sweeping and right-of-way clearing. Read on...
Grounds Division Year-round and seasonal staff work to improve, maintain and repair Township owned public grounds, including our three parks, the Municipal Center, Fire Stations, Public Works Operations Center, plus, various neighborhood play lots, open green space, traffic islands, and building areas. Traffic Division Responsible for the maintenance and programming of the 41 signals along State and Township roads in Cranberry. We also maintain an additional seven signals through an Inter-Municipal Traffic Signal Maintenance Agreement with Adams Township, Seven Fields Borough, and Marshall Township. A Certified Level III Technician works daily to maintain the intricate details of the traffic signalization plan. Read on...
Facilities Division Responsible for installation, repair, and maintenance on seven Township-owned facilities including the Municipal Center, Public Works, Fire Stations, EMS building, Public Safety Training Center, Cranberry Highlands Golf Course Clubhouse and the Brush Creek Treatment Plant. Life safety equipment and an AED monthly inspection program are handled through the Division, as well as managing contract housekeeping performance. Facilities is responsible for building access control systems and three fueling stations in the Township.
