INVITATION TO BIDDERS

Notice is hereby given that the Cranberry Township Board of Supervisors, Butler County, 2525 Rochester Road, Suite 400, Cranberry Township, PA 16066-6499, will accept sealed bids for the following contract until 2:45 p.m., to be opened at 3:00 p.m., on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center, 2525 Rochester Road, Suite 400, Cranberry Township, PA 16066-6499.

Contract No. 24-04 - Residential Garbage, Yard Waste & Recycling Collection, Disposal & Processing

Provide garbage collection and disposal, collection of recyclables and yard waste for delivery to permitted and/or approved recycling and/or yard waste composting facilities from all single-family and multi-family dwelling units with individualized refuse collection located in Cranberry Township, as more clearly specified in the Contract Documents.  

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, in the Cranberry Township Municipal Center, Administration Office. At least one person from a prospective bidder’s organization, who is directly responsible for the operational requirements of the Contract should attend the pre-bid meeting.

All questions should be emailed to Alicia.Zevola@cranberrytownship.org Engineering Department. Questions must be received no later than 12:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2024.  A written summary of all questions and answers will be emailed to all prospective bidders who attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting no later than COB, Monday, February 26, 2024.

Proposals may be submitted upon forms provided by the Township and must be sealed with proper identification of subject bid on the outside of the envelope.  For bidding documents, please contact Alicia Zevola, Engineering Department, at Alicia.Zevola@cranberrytownship.org or by calling 724-776-4806 x 1134 to obtain a printed copy at a non-refundable fee of $20.00.  All bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid made payable to Cranberry Township.  Performance Bond will be set at twenty percent (20%) with Bid Bond and Certificate of Insurance furnished as specified in “Instructions to Bidders.”  Faxed or electronically submitted bids will not be accepted.  

The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any defects or irregularities in the best interest of the Township.

Contract No. 24-05 -  Sanitary Sewer & Water Facilities Grass Cutting Services

Provide all labor, materials, equipment, supplies and supervision necessary for the professional grass cutting services for multiple Sanitary Sewer and Water Facilities located in Cranberry Township, as more clearly specified in the Contract Documents.   

Bidding documents are available at no cost on PennBid (www.pennbid.net). Proposals shall be submitted upon forms provided by the Township.

Bids will be received electronically via the PennBid Program until 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at which time the bids will be opened, with the results made available on PennBid.  Bids submitted directly to Cranberry Township will be invalid and considered non-responsive.

Questions regarding this bid shall be submitted via the “Messages” feature within PennBid.

All bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of One-Thousand Dollars ($1,000) payable to Cranberry Township.  

All bids shall remain irrevocable for 60 days after the actual date of the opening.

The estimated cost of this Project is greater than Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000) and the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act shall apply.

The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any defects or irregularities in the best interest of the Township.

Contract No. 24-01 Superpave Street Resurfacing 2024

This Contract includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation and work required to complete the paving work, as more clearly specified in the Contract Documents.  The following are estimated quantities: 2,400 Tons of Superpave Leveling Course, 3,600 Tons Superpave Wearing Course, 17,000 SY of Full Width Milling up to 4-inch depth, 54,000 SY Full Width Milling, 2,800 Tons of 25mm Binder and 18,000 LF of Line Painting. 

Bidding documents are available at no cost on PennBid www.pennbid.net.   Proposal shall be submitted upon forms provided by the Township.

This Contract includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation and work required to complete the paving work, as more clearly specified in the Contract Documents.  The following are estimated quantities: 60,000 SY of Asphalt Single Seal Coat and 57,00 LF of 4-inch Line Painting (including double yellow & two white edge lines.)
